We are currently seeking an experienced Azure/Fabric BI Functional Analyst to support one of our clients in the energy sector. This role offers the opportunity to lead BI scoping, design analytics data models, and collaborate with both business and IT stakeholders to deliver impactful reporting solutions.

The Mission

You will lead the functional analysis for BI initiatives, gather and challenge business requirements, design analytics data models, support developers during the build phase, and ensure the delivery of high-quality dashboards and BI solutions within the Azure and Microsoft Fabric ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

Scoping Phase

• Lead workshops with Business and IT stakeholders.

• Inventory measures, KPIs, data sources, datasets, reports, and dashboards.

• Consolidate findings to build the requirements matrix.

• Challenge and rationalize business needs based on collected inventories.

• Collaborate with IT Business Analysts from source applications.

• Contribute to the creation of conceptual analytics data models.

• Support various deliverables, including IT risk analyses (Security & Privacy by Design).

• Contribute to BI solution effort estimation.

• Work closely with the data solution architect and IT business analysts.

Delivery Phase (Design / Build / Implementation)

• Translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications.

• Develop logical data models.

• Support developers throughout the entire build phase.

• Create complex reports and dashboards (beyond business capabilities).

• Test the developed BI solution.

• Support business teams during user acceptance testing.

• Write end-user documentation.

• Train key users.

Your Profile

Must-Have

• Advanced knowledge of SQL & T-SQL.

• Experience with Azure Data tools (ADF, ADLS, SQL Databases, Synapse).

• Experience with Microsoft Fabric (Fabric Data Factory, Notebooks, OneLake).

• Background in Data/BI/Analytics.

• Strong experience with DAX and Power BI.

• Proven experience in dimensional modeling (Vault, 3NF).

• Proven experience as a functional analyst or analyst-programmer.

Should-Have

• Knowledge of the Belgian energy sector.

• Experience with testing tools (HPQC, Azure Test Plans).

• Experience with modeling tools (Sparx EA).

• Experience with Agile/Scrum and user story creation.

• Experience as an analyst on SAP BO/DS platforms.

• Strong experience in testing methodologies and techniques (integration & functional).

• Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate Certification (DP-600).

• Knowledge of lakehouse and warehouse architectures.

• Knowledge of Python / PySpark.
