At afarax, we connect top freelance IT professionals with high-impact projects. We are currently seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Engineer to support one of our clients in the insurance sector. This role offers the opportunity to design, implement, and operate secure Azure cloud platforms while enabling application migration and modernization at scale.

The Mission

You will build and maintain the Azure Landing Zone architecture, define standards and best practices, ensure platform stability, and support development teams in delivering secure and scalable cloud solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud Architecture & Platform Design

• Build the Azure Landing Zone architecture to accommodate all application portfolios.

• Design and implement a ready-to-use, secure, and scalable cloud platform.

• Define cloud standards, best practices, and governance policies.

Operational Continuity & Support

• Ensure the stability and operational continuity of cloud systems.

• Shape and advise IT and cloud operation services.

• Provide guidance and support to development teams during migration and modernization projects.

Networking & Security

• Implement and maintain cloud network security and connectivity standards.

• Collaborate with teams to enforce security best practices in Azure SaaS/PaaS environments.

Coaching & Knowledge Sharing

• Mentor and coach teams on cloud architecture, Azure best practices, and operational standards.

• Stay updated on market and technology evolutions to guide platform improvements.

Your Profile

• Proven expertise in Microsoft Azure and Azure DevOps.

• Strong experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, ARM templates, Bicep).

• Deep understanding of Azure SaaS/PaaS services.

• Solid knowledge of networking and cloud security concepts.

• Excellent communication and coaching skills.

• Degree in IT or equivalent experience.

• Proficiency in English and Dutch and/or French.
