At afarax, we connect top freelance IT professionals with high-impact projects. We are currently seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support one of our clients in the utilities sector. This role offers the opportunity to guide business process redesign, translate business needs into actionable requirements, and ensure successful implementation of IT solutions.

The Mission

You will analyze business processes, capture and validate requirements, harmonize processes across departments, and support business stakeholders throughout the implementation of new IT tools, including training and post-implementation support.

Key Responsibilities

• Model business processes and guide stakeholders through redesign initiatives.

• Identify business needs and translate them into well-defined requirements (epics, features, user stories).

• Challenge business requests and proposed to-be processes.

• Develop business information models including interfaces, screens, and reports.

• Harmonize business processes across departments.

• Align and validate requirements between business and IT teams.

• Review and validate IT functional analyses.

• Support testing and validation activities after tool implementation, including UAT.

• Contribute to change management, prepare training materials, and deliver user training.

• Provide post-implementation support to business stakeholders using the new IT tools.

Your Profile

• Master’s degree in a technical or economic field, or equivalent experience.

• 5+ years of relevant experience as a Business Analyst (requirements definition, business process design).

• Strong command of English; excellent knowledge of Dutch or French, and understanding of the second national language.

• Strong analytical skills with a critical mindset to challenge stakeholders constructively.

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Able to work independently and as part of a team, build consensus, and influence stakeholders.

• Strong organizational and planning skills.

• Customer-oriented, flexible, and proactive.

• Basic knowledge of MS Project or willingness to learn.

• Knowledge of BPMN and UML.

• Experience with Enterprise Architect (EA), Jira, or Azure DevOps is a plus.

• Experience in the electricity sector is an asset.
