afarax is looking for a freelance Senior Functional Analyst. We need you!

The project:

Our client in the Banking sector, is seeking an experienced Functional Analyst to strengthen their team.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Understanding and translating functional requirements at both process and data level
• Producing detailed functional and technical analyses of the target solutions
• Performing analyses up to physical data model definition and data flow specifications (mass data processing and APIs)
• Coordinating and following up development activities with technical teams
• Defining, preparing, and executing test scenarios
• Supporting and coordinating business testing activities while reporting progress and issues to the Team Leader
• Assisting business stakeholders during test execution phases
• Supporting corrective actions and issue resolution during development cycles
• Supporting deployment and transition-to-operations activities (including occasional weekend interventions if required)
• Producing and maintaining high-quality project documentation
• Collaborating closely with Solution Designers, Scrum Masters, Feature Designers, Functional Analysts, Software Engineers, Team Leaders, and stakeholders across multiple domains

Is this you?

We are looking for a Senior Functional Analyst with strong analytical capabilities and experience in complex banking and data-driven environments.

Functional & Business Skills

• Good understanding of banking domains such as Loans, Referential Data, and Credit Risk
• Strong experience working in Agile environments, preferably within the SAFe framework
• Strong expertise in data modelling and analysis methodologies, including:
• CDM / LDM
• UML
• Relational data modelling
• Sparx Enterprise Architect or similar tools
• Experience with business process modelling is considered a strong asset

A strong willingness to understand the domain, learn existing software solutions, and quickly assimilate the current architecture and functional landscape is considered essential for success in this role.

The ability to challenge business requirements constructively and identify the most appropriate functional and technical solutions is highly valued.

Technical Environment

Although this is not a purely technical role, a good understanding of modern technical ecosystems is important.

Useful technical knowledge includes:

• Open Systems environments
• Java ecosystem
• Swagger / REST APIs
• XML
• Cloud technologies
• BPMN notation and BPMS platforms such as jBPM
• SQL and database querying capabilities
• Data Virtualization concepts and technologies (considered an asset)
